Data-deletion instructions / Effective 12 October 2026
Your data.
Your request.
How to request deletion of your information, with clear steps and a direct email contact.
Privacy contact: hello@whatmakesitrun.com
For requests concerning What Makes It Run or What Makes It Click. You can email us without signing in.
Send a deletion request
- Email hello@whatmakesitrun.com with the subject “Data deletion request.”
- Tell us which information you mean. For social information, include your Instagram handle, whether it relates to @whatmakesitclick or @whatmakesitrun, and the relevant post/comment link, if available. If the request concerns a connected account, identify the account and app name. For an enquiry, use the original email address where possible and give an approximate date or subject.
- Describe the scope. Say whether you want a specific comment/conversation, account-related information or enquiry correspondence removed. Include approximate dates if a link is unavailable.
- Ask for confirmation. Request a written explanation of which records were found, which were deleted and whether related files, provider records or backups remain.
Please send the minimum information needed to locate the request. Do not send passwords, access tokens, identity documents or unrelated private messages. Verification may be needed before information can be disclosed or changed.
What the request can cover
A request can concern information held by us about you: enquiry correspondence, saved comment authors/handles and conversations, reply drafts, and related generation files or job records that contain your information. It can also concern connected-account data if such information has been retained.
Only @whatmakesitclick has been connected for testing; @whatmakesitrun has not been connected. The Click test retrieved one post/caption, returned zero comments and did not save the retrieved response to files or upload it to the application. The existing manual comment workflow is separate and does save conversations and drafts.
We cannot delete your Instagram account, copies held by other people or Meta’s own records through this website. Use Instagram’s own controls for posts or comments you control. Requests about records held by a separate client organisation should go to that organisation.
Important: current deletion limits
The existing conversation-delete action removes the conversation from the active application database and its associated temporary screenshot, if present. It does not comprehensively remove related generation files, job/usage records, provider records or backups.
A complete personal-data deletion procedure still needs to be established. Backup retention and full deletion-request handling have not been verified. This is a manual contact route, not an automated deletion callback or a promise of immediate, comprehensive erasure.
Do not assume that clicking “delete” in a conversation, sending an email or disconnecting an account has removed every copy. Ask about remaining records and copies. We do not state a fixed completion deadline or claim that all backups can already be cleared.
Disconnecting an Instagram account
To revoke an app’s future access, use the connected-app permissions controls provided by Instagram or Meta. Our shared apps may be listed as Video Studio or Video Studio-IG. Remove the relevant permission where listed. If you cannot identify the connection, email the privacy contact for help.
Disconnection is not a deletion request. Automatic deletion on Instagram disconnection has not been implemented. Use the email steps above if you also want previously received or manually supplied information removed.
Access, correction or questions
You can use the same contact route to request access or correction instead of deletion. Read the privacy policy for details about website analytics, manual AI-assisted replies, providers, access and retention, and our common operator.
